About My Location Pincode

My Location Pincode is an independent tool for finding Indian postal index numbers (PIN codes) — either for your current location or by browsing any state, district, city, area or post office.

What this site does

A PIN code is the six-digit postal code used by India Post to route mail. My Location Pincode helps you answer two questions quickly: “what is the PIN code where I am right now?” and “what are the PIN codes for a particular place in India?”. You can detect your current location's PIN code with one tap, or browse the full directory by state and work down to a single post office.

Where the data comes from

PIN codes and post office names are issued and maintained by the Department of Posts (India Post). My Location Pincode presents this reference information for convenience and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by India Post or any government body.

We work to keep records accurate, but postal boundaries and post office details change over time. Always confirm a PIN code with India Post or the recipient before sending important mail. If you spot something wrong, please let us know.

How current-location detection works

When you choose to detect your location, your browser asks for permission and, if you allow it, provides approximate coordinates. Those coordinates are sent to our server only to look up the matching area and PIN code — they are not stored or linked to you. You can decline the permission and use the search and browse features instead. See our Privacy Policy for details.
